Corpag Commitment

We believe in conducting sustainable business and being prepared for what the future might bring. This will allow us to better serve our clients, and it allows us to contribute in a significant way to the societies in which we operate. We believe in helping to ensure inclusiveness and high-quality education for all, and promoting lifelong learning: this forms an important part of our culture.
Corpag Commitment offers student loans to talented young people who strive for the best education, but lack the financial means to obtain it. While at the same time, Corpag Commitment offers a solid opportunity to invest in human capital with a fair interest rate.

As Corpag is a strong believer of assuming ownership, the Commitment student loans are not donations. We view these loans as an educational partnership in which students repay their loan plus modest interest, and we -in addition to loaning money- offer internship and mentoring possibilities.

We’re in this thing together: our commitment-and thus our loan- is for the entire duration of the academic program. Repayment obligations commence once you have completed the program and move on to the next phase of yourcareer.

ESG

We conduct our business in a way that has the smallest possible impact on the environment, leads to achievement of social goals and protects human rights. We are making transparent choices about how, where and with whom we do business. We support projects related to clean energy, protection of the environment and positive development of communities. We do not provide services to parties that perform activities or have direct involvement in certain industries or activities having a clear negative impact on the environment or society. In doing some, Corpag became one of the go-to corporate services for renewable energy projects across the world.
In order to further reach these goals we have developed our own Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, which is built on the basis of our core values together with globally accepted standards such as the Global Compact, the Equator principles and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
By implementing our ESG framework, we aim to:
  • Facilitate safe and global trade in a responsible and sustainable manner.
  • Align our global organization on the treatment of ESG risks and decision-making process.
  • Identify ESG risks which are posed by the activities of current and potential clients.
  • Determine whether there are mechanisms in place to mitigate such risks.
  • Support our clients to seek continuous improvement in their ESG practices.
  • Refuse to enter or maintain a business relationship with clients who pose anunacceptably high level of ESG risk.
  • Live up to our reputation as a sustainable corporate services provider.
  • Not only mitigate our negative impact but create opportunities for sustainable growth.
  • Take measures, outside of daily activities and core business, which will directly or indirectly contribute towards addressing ESG problems.
As our clients often have a far greater influence on ESG matters due to the nature of their activities than us, our ESG policy is primarily targeted at our role as corporate services provider in the chain. However, we also have an internal ESG focus.
Our own environmental sustainability objectives are:
  • Reduction of electricity consumption.
  • Reduction of waste and increase of recycling.
  • Regular measure and evaluation of our own carbon emissions.
  • Minimise intensive air travel.
We have reached carbon neutrality, reducing the emission we generate while increasing the amount we eliminate, protecting our staff, our clients and the planet. The initiatives we are supporting involve cooking on biogas in Kenya and Latin America improving local families’ health, installing homewater filters in Laos providing clean water access to all the communities, wind power projects in Turkey or India, and refore station projects. Our ESG framework is integrated into every element of our business conduct and will be revised from time to time to reflect our risk appetite and organizational or regulatory changes.

Fiscal Integrity

Tax and fiscal aspects play a very important role in corporate management as it is generally recognized that tax payers (entities and individuals) are free to arrange their businesses in a way which attracts minimum tax liability to them. It does not mean however that any behaviour or strategy seeking to obtain a tax advantage should be tolerable as there are both legal and social boundaries which need to be observed.
Although defining those boundaries is not always an easy task, Corpag understands that, as a corporate services company, it is important for our staff, clients, partners, and other stakeholders to have a clear view of how our businesses are conducted and what elements we take into consideration when performing our services. Such concern is in line with our long tradition
of conservative, sustainable growth, long-term commitment, and stability for the future.

Our Fiscal Integrity Policy indicates and clearly explains the fiscal integrity principles of Corpag, following applicable regulations and the best practices indicated by our regulators. They shall serve as criteria for
example, the client acceptance and monitoring procedure, the selection of feeders and partners, definition of services provided by us and where to perform them and, finally, but not of least importance, how to manage the fiscal risks in our systematic integrity risk analysis.
